As noted by Luigi Negri in his Introduction (pp. 3-4), this booklet contains “the most significant words that traversed CL’s educational effort” between 1977 and 1985.

“Viterbo 1977” (pp. 5-45) is the text of the address delivered by Luigi Giussani at the National Convention of Teachers of Communion and Liberation, held in Viterbo from 27 to 31 August 1977. In that same year the review “CL-Litterae Communionis” published an article titled La nostra responsabilità per una presenza educativa (10, 1977, insert; the text consists of notes unrevised by the author, edited by Laura Cioni).

The text now forms part of the volume of miscellaneous writings titled Il rischio educativo. Come creazione di personalità e di storia (SEI, 1995, pp. 57-94) and in 2004 some excerpts were republished under the title Un’esperienza che si vede in “Litterae Communionis-Tracce” (2004, 1, p. 73; SEI, 1995, pp. 63-65; 67; 84; 86-88; 90 e 74; 92). “Assisi 1978” (pp. 47-75) is the text of the address delivered to the National Convention of Teachers of Communion and Liberation the following year (Assisi 29-30 August 1978), originally published in “CL-Literae Communionis” under the title Scommessa sulla vita (12, 1978, pp. 21-28; notes from the address to the convention of teachers, edited by Maria Teresa Acerbi and Maddalena Kémeny).

“Milano 1985”, in the appendix (pp. 77-83), is a previously unpublished text by a Equipe of CL Educators who met in Milan on 28 April 1985.

In 1990, the Cooperativa Eitoriale Nuovo Mondo republished the booklet with the addition of a fourth section titled “Milano 1990” (1990, pp. 87-103).
